What is Saint Peter's Summer Program?
Saint Peter's Summer Program is a fantastic 7-week adventure where kids and counselors alike embark on a journey of faith and love for Christ. It's not just a summer camp; it's a place where campers get to deepen their connection with their faith, guided by awesome young Catholic counselors who serve as fantastic role models. Picture a joyful and secure environment where faith and fun go hand in hand. It's all about creating beautiful memories and fostering a love for Christ that lasts well beyond the summer months. Come join us at Saint Peter's for a summer filled with faith, friendship, and a whole lot of fun!
Who is in charge of Summer Program? The Summer Program Director is Ms. Caley Gallagher and Assistant Director, Mrs. Maria Hauge in conjunction with Ms. Angela Busby, Director of Youth Ministry, is an extension of the Parish Youth Ministry. They are in charge of selecting and directing a Catholic staff of primarily college-age, and high-school teens to run the Summer Program. Counselors will apply, interview, and be vetted based on maturity, responsibility, creativity, and their desire to share their faith. Summer Program is in the application process to be a certified summer camp with the State of Maryland and will abide by Maryland guidelines, including first aid and CPR-trained staff on-site at all times.
Who can attend? The Summer Program is open to youth ages 4-12. It is not necessary to be a parishioner or even be Catholic. While we discuss our faith in Jesus and encourage it among our campers, one of our goals is that all children feel welcome to have fun, learn, and be around positive role models.
